The Opportunity
We are looking for a Shipping Clerk for our 111 Progress location. The key responsibility is to ensures accurate preparation, packaging, and coordination of outgoing shipments to meet delivery timelines.
What You’ll Do
- Ability to work directly with hourly shipping employees to resolve concerns
- Direct receiving for couriers
- Setting up deliveries/orders for trailers and completing all necessary paperwork (bills) corresponding with the loads
- Direct communication with other Atlantic sites, Sales Reps and other Company contacts and demonstrates the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to changing circumstances
- Operating and maintaining system for setting up and maintaining records of orders
- Must be familiar and be able to work with computer systems
- Monitoring general activities in the shipping department
- Ensuring outside carriers are available for deliveries
- Constant communication between departments when stock is received
- Ability to act independently with little direction and suggest continuous improvement initiatives
- Working within the parameters of Company policies and procedures
- Call customers to ensure we they are updated on stock (time and date of delivery)
- Other duties as assigned
What you'll bring
- Post secondary education
- Previous experience in a Warehouse Environment would be an asset
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Strong/effective communication skills
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
- Ability to work autonomously and with little direction in a high volume, fast paced environment
- Ability to present themselves in a professional manner
